Operators are under constant pressure to meet the demands from multiple fronts for technologies to deliver higher bandwidth with lower latency while introducing new services with higher velocity. In addition to that, they are challenged to work with vendors offering devices lacking interoperability, flexibility and agility. Doing so, the operators are faced to do with more with less due to ever decreasing ARPU whilst above mentioned complexities causing increase in CAPEX & OPEX.

Argela, with its subsidiary company Netsia, provides operators a platform to transform their Access (Edge) Networks by leveraging advancements in data center technologies to the Edge (Central Office) sites such as cloudification, through virtualization and software defined networking (SDN) technologies.  With the help of SDN, we have disaggregated functions of PON into microservices running on Edge clouds, which can be upgraded, scaled and customized separately. This gives great flexibility to operators, enabling them to deploy PON services quickly without vendor lock in and without high infrastructure investment initially - it is easy to scale as new subscribers and services are added to the system.
