Argela Service Quality Monitoring provide insight into customers' perceptions of service quality provided by the CSPs. With high level performance indicators and drill down capabilities for fixed and mobile services, evaluation of service quality and rich KPI reporting for each service in the portfolio. Argela Service Analytics provides end-to-end service visibility across all domains, providing a comprehensive view of service performance – spanning through all mobile (2G/ 3G/ 4G/5G/VoLTE), IMS/ NGN, Fixed (PSTN/ ISDN) networks.

Network data is collected in real-time via the use of passive probes that intersect interfaces between the different entities in each generation of the network. The collected data is enriched and correlated with a set of network parameters and/or demographic information. Then the data is analyzed with proven algorithms to provide valuable insights about the service quality. End-to-end fail analysis is provided for each and every service quality analysis. This enhanced end-to-end fail analysis provides a programmatic way of analyzing the services and pinpointing the service related failures without the need of node-by-node or protocol by protocol investigation.

VoLTE & VoWI-FI Analytics

Although mobile data is gaining importance, voice is still essential. A mobile number is still considered an individual’s or a business’s identity. There is still a need for a stable and a reliable real time communications service. That means, voice has taken a different shape from the legacy SS7 voice and now it has a different skin, but still a major service and income source for mobile operators. To cultivate more voice revenue, around the world, mobile operators are currently working to make VoLTE (Voice over LTE) available to as many of their subscribers.

In order to ensure VoLTE service quality an end-to-end monitoring solution with cross-domain visibility capabilities is essential. It offers analysis from various point of views including geographic location and network equipment for all possible interconnection types, namely, IMS-to-IMS, IMS-to-CS, IMS-to-Local-IMS, IMS-to-Other-IMS and IMS-to-Other-Network. It generates alarms and informs the operator of the performance degradations.

Audio quality analysis in the VoLTE/VoWI-FI call is done by measuring the statistical and distribution information for Uplink and Downlink Mean opinion score (MOS), packet loss and jitter.

CS Fall Back (CSFB) Analytics

CS Fallback (CSFB) is considered as one of the main methods to deliver voice service to LTE subscribers. It requires minimal software update at network and device side. Due to these advantages, it is an ideal method for the mobile operators to deliver voice service to LTE subscribers in the short-term with low cost. CSFB basically provides voice services to LTE subscribers by switching to overlapping legacy 2G/3G networks. In CSFB method during outgoing and incoming voice call setup in, signaling is done between LTE Core (EPC) and CS Core (2G/3G) for radio switch-over. SGs interface is introduced to enable CSFB between MSC and MME. 

To evaluate the quality and performance of CSFB service from the customer point of view by monitoring only one signaling interface is not possible. To measure the KQIs, which reflect the closest insight into the service quality, all the interfaces included in the CSFB service delivery should be monitored separately by CSFB related protocol probes. Moreover, XDRs generated by these different protocol probes should be correlated with each other to form end-to-end, enhanced and subscriber-centric KPIs/KQIs.

Argela CSFB Analytics is developed to overcome these challenges. It evaluates and presents the CSFB service quality by multi-domain, multi-protocol monitoring and real-time multi-protocol correlation along with CSFB related device performance metrics.
